A tarmac (tarmacadam) or asphalt driveway is made by mixing stones and hot tar or hot bitumen carefully together, which is then poured on top of a sub-base, rolled flat and left to dry.
Tarmac driveways (made using tar) are basically the same as Asphalt driveways (which use bitumen). There terms are used interchangeable, though it’s usually bitumen (asphalt) that’s used for most modern tarmac drives.
Tarmac is commonly used for road surfaces, car parks and pavements and is a popular choice for drives all across the region. We’re often asked to install tarmac driveways in Bury, Stockport, Bolton, Altrincham and everywhere in between.
Strong and long-lasting, tarmac driveways give a clean, simple design for your home in many shapes and sizes, though they’re not quite as flexible (and don’t give you the same kind of choice) as pattern imprinted concrete drives.
Tarmac driveways are a great option for a clean, simple look for your home. They're super practical and can enhance the value of your property. We can even 'picture frame' your tarmac drive with a block paving border.
You might also want to consider other updates and enhancements to your home, like a new patio or walkway. We can help design and install all your driveway and patio upgrades, using tarmac, asphalt and pattern imprinted concrete.
