When the tarmac driveway on this home in Preston was fading and crumbling, the owners knew it there was perfect opportunity to upgrade the front of their home.
Why they choose pattern imprinted concrete
They liked the block paving pathway that formed the centre of the driveway, and as this wasn’t too old, wanted to keep this as feature. But in front of the garage and in front of the door, two large areas of tarmac looked unsightly and needed replacing.
The homeowners had never really liked the tarmac – it didn’t complement the look or feel of their house, it didn’t work with the block paving they had, and, it felt a bit cheap.
They wanted something that looked more impressive – and wouldn’t deteriorate like the tarmac.
Something that would last for years and always look attractive – as well as matching the remaining block paving.
So they chose pattern imprinted concrete for both driveway ways – with an Old English Cobble pattern to match. The colour decided on was classic grey, in a charcoal release.
During the installation
With the plans all signed off, we got to work.
We excavated all the existing tarmac to prepare each area for the concrete pour.
Then, after printing the Old English Cobble pattern, we sealed the concrete.
And of course, we had to take extra care around the Bentley, and make sure the finished concrete driveway would be as perfect and luxurious.
