Nazareth House is a picturesque assisted living residence in Prestwich, Manchester, with lots of stunning outdoor space – including large green fields with some great views.

But accessing those fields was difficult for many of their retired residents with mobility issues. Walking across wet and muddy grass was not ideal, even in the summer. And with nowhere to shelter from the shade, residents just simply couldn’t make use of that large field.

So the outstanding team at Nazareth House turned to our outstanding concrete patio experts at Complete Driveway Designs.

Installing all weather foundations

First we set about marking out the area for the new concrete patio area and all-weather walkway to it, digging down into the ground to lay the safe and solid foundations.

We wanted to make sure the relaxing, sensory patio was accessible in all weathers, all year round.
Erecting a wooden pergola

Before the concrete had all been poured and the London Cobblestone printed – with a Sandstone Buff colour – we set the posts for the large wooden pergola that would sit on top of Narareth House’s new concrete patio.

Our team then finalised the erection of the pergola with beams and a solid roof, to provide the perfect shade for residents during those sunny days.

With the concrete all poured, printed and set – a total of 50 square metres – the path was all set for residents to walk down without having to worry about slipping over wet, sodden, uneeven ground.

With easy access for walkers and wheelchairs, it means every resident can get outdoors into the surrounding greenery at Nazareth house and enjoy the sensory seating area.
Enjoying the outdoors, all year round

We completed work on the outdoor concrete patio seating area – with printed concrete pathway and wooden pergola – just in time the annual summer fete at Nazareth House.

Needless to say all the residents absolutely loved their dedicated new outdoor sensory seating area. It’s already a favourite all day long – with easy access, plenty of shade, and stunning views across the grounds.
