Everyone uses their front garden differently. If yours is overgrown, unsightly and massively impractical – as was the case at Hill Top in Bromley Cross, Bolton, you might want to consider a driveway conversion.

At Hill Top, the owners had several cars and vans that they wanted to fit comfortably on their driveway – but the lack of space, the narrow entrance and the front lawn was causing a problem. They turned to Complete Driveway Designs.

We discussed their requests, scoped out the big job, and set about transforming their under-used front garden into an incredible, full-width concrete driveway.

The result – complete with customisations and personalisation – is beautiful. And the owners couldn’t be happier:

“Wow, that driveway looks spectacular. I knew it would be good, but the end result – I’m just blown away.”

All works completed to the highest standard

You’ll see the full process we went through with the owners of Hill Top below to transform their old front garden. Our expert team conducted every part of the job – from the initial excavation through to the final finishing touches.

All work was done to the highest standard, and all waste completely removed as part of the project.

The before and after transformation

This front garden transformation in Bolton turned over 300 square metres of underused grass, walls and small parking area into an incredible, full-width concrete driveway that wows as soon as you see it.

It looks stunning from the moment you drive up to the house, opening up the entire garden and perfectly suiting the house.

The owners agree, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Complete Driveway Designs.

“You have  a great team, and we’re just blown away. Please pass on my sincere thanks to all the team. Each and every person from the team delivered. We are so grateful we’ve made the right decision with hiring Complete Driveway Designs.”

  • Scoping out the job

Our expert designer visited Hill Top to discuss exactly how the owners wanted to use their new driveway. This let us effectively plan out the shape and design to maximise practicality from the outset.

We then discussed the colours and styles that would complement the house, and finalised all the work required to turn the narrow drive into a large feature entrance.

  • Excavating the old garden

When our groundwork team arrived on site, their first job was to excavate all the old garden, including the grass, the brickwork and the existing driveway.

We dug down everything out, levelled off the foundation surface, and began to mark out the new driveway. And of course, we handle all the waste removal from the site.

  • Setting out borders and sections

With such a large area to cover, we recommended splitting up the concrete driveway design into different sections. This would help lay out pathways and parking space, and frame the new drive with a great looking border.

Our team then got to work pouring the concrete into the middle section and the borders, before moving onto the larger main driveway. The borders feature a platinum silver colour, with a textured skin, while the main body of the drive is classic grey with a porcelain tile imprint.

  • Adding a custom 16 point star

To draw focus to the centre of the driveway – right in front of the doorway – we installed a beautiful 16pt star with detailed staining.

It looks stunning and really stands out on the new concrete driveway in Bolton.

  • Finalising the entranceway

To welcome visitors to Hill Top, the owners decided to create a custom entranceway, with classic grey old English cobble print, and a dedicated area for the name of the house.

In dive grey, we printed Hill Top into the new concrete driveway, so it’s the first thing you see as you drive onto the property. It looks superb.
