What do you do when your old, block paving driveway is bringing down the look, feel and value of your stunning, modern home?

Simple. You call Complete Driveway & Patio Designs and have us come and discuss, design and install an incredible upgrade.

That’s what these homeowners in Bromley Cross did. Their old driveway was looking very tired,  with block paving cracks filled with moss and areas looking patchy and faded. Worse still, the tiles at the front of their house were all broken and falling off.

So our designer Claire paid them a visit, and together, we planned an incredible new look for their drive and walkway, to match the style of the house. A new tarmac driveway in Bolton, with Indian stone picture framing.

Transforming to a tarmac drive

Our excavation and installation teams quickly got to work, as the homeowner was keen on a fast turnaround. After scoping out the design, we set about digging out the old block paving and expanding the driveway.

We’d discussed the practicalities the homeowner wanted, and created a design that would widen the driveway slightly and make use of wasted dirt and shrubbery at the boundary with the neighbour.

Next, we stripped the drive back to its foundations and ensured the base level would be suitable for the tarmac driveway installation.

Before we brought in the tarmac – the final part of the transformation – we set to work laying the gorgeous new Indian stone border and walkway that the homeowner had requested.

This striking silver grey Indian stone perfectly complemented the look and feel of the property and by using black grout, the flagstones would blend seamlessly with the black tarmac to create a beautiful picture frame look.

By focusing on usability and with a keen eye for attention to detail, we also suggested a highly practical curved Indian flagstone at the corner of the driveway and walkway to the house. This would give easier access to the house for passengers getting out of the car, without them needing to cut across the grass.

After finishing the Indian stone edging, we were ready to complete the driveway with the tarmac installation.

Installing the tarmac and completing the driveway

After laying 31 square metres of Indian Stone for the incredible picture frame border, we completed the transformation with the pouring of 53 square metres of tarmac.

Keeping with our attention to detail, we made sure the driveway was seamlessly level with the pavement (upgrading the access to be certain) and had a perfect finish with the neighbours border with additional Indian stone edging.

The final result? Absolutely stunning.
